Days in Branson can be so fun! We (Terry Sanders and I) had lunch with our friend Barry Williams at Florentina's Ristorante Italiano and then went to see his new 2014 show at the Hughes Brothers Theatre.
As you will see in the attached video it was a fun show to say the least. Mr. Williams, a talented actor, singer, dancer, author etc. etc. etc. has surrounded himself with an all-star cast. If you are familiar with the Branson music scene (or at least recognize the names Haygood, Zeligman and Dino Phillips), you would recognize everyone in his band, the singers and dancers. There is a lot of talent there!
Barry, takes his audience on a musical journey through the 1970s. He masterfully blends comedy, TV, Broadway, Country Music and an all around good feeling together in a way that is respectful and non-clichéd and sure to please just about anyone.
He and his cast sing and play the music of the Eagles, Elton John, the Carpenters, James Taylor, the Bee Gees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dolly Parton, Carol King and others. They even sing some of the best and most recognizable TV theme songs of the decade.
Of course he tells a few behind-the-scenes stories from his years with The Brady Bunch but this show is so much more than that. He is extremely friendly and down to earth, even staying after the show for photos and autographs.
If you haven't done so, you need to see this show! By the way, it just occured to me that you might think this is an advertisement, it is NOT. This is an unpaid endorsement from Branson's Tour Guide.
